SIL phoned hes coming to lay my new carpets tomorrow after lunch so our plans to go shopping and take Dog to park are on hold , in the morning we must move all the furniture from the sitting room into the kitchen/diner except the sofa its to heavy so SIL and his apprentice will lift that out of way as they go , we also need to take the old carpet up in the morning , we also have J tomorrow tea time and DS said hes calling in with two youngest after school , fingers crossed everything is back in place then , want carpet down but hate the upheaval

Oma - you're right, it is an upheaval, but tomorrow night when you sink exhausted onto the sofa and look round at your lovely new carpet you will say it was worth it!
The disruption is exhausting and you wonder why you bothered! We're having Velux windows put in our dining room and kitchen next week, so this week-end we've got to move everything out of the dining room - including a huge table and a sideboard, and then a couple of days later, clear the kitchen. The workmen have said it won't make much mess, but the ceilings will need replastering and I think that's the worst, messiest job in the world!

It sounds as if we are all on the decorating lark. I went n to our local carpet shop today just a recky as I am not planning to have it replaced until August but it takes me ages to choose anything. My DIL has persuaded me to replace the carpet after the decorator is finished, get the furniture re-upholstered and then chose some curtains. I have found a man with a van who will move the furniture into my garage before we go away, the decorator is coming in then and then the carpet before the furniture is returned. Not sure yet when the reupholstering will fit into that programme, probably whilst we are away. My biggest problem is that I am not as decisive as you Oma but my DIL is.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
