My GS1 is struggling with the feelings that go along with having a baby brother, now almost 5mth old. I found this link to be really helpful.

Very useful Nana, thank you.
Having a new sibling is a very conflicting time for a toddler. That the parents have given him/her a friend for life is lost on a 2 or 3 year old presented with a tiny thing who can't play with them, but seems to have taken over Mummy!
As our new baby arrived 6 and a half years after his sister ( who longed to be a big sister) we fortunately don't have this problem.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

My GS1 is 5 Gem & he's finding it really difficult. DD1 has PND so it's a really hard time for them all. This article has really helped me. I think he's 'missing' his mummy's full attention & is just realising the baby is there forever."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

It is hard Nana. 5 years of undivided attention followed by a new baby, especially when mummy is having a difficult time, takes some coming to terms with.
I hope things settle down for everyone soon xx“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Going over to help a couple of days this week. I'm pleased she's letting me 'in' again. She's a very proud, independent woman. First step to recovery I feel."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Glad you are going to help out Nana. A positive step forward for you all.
When mine were little I read an article where the writer asked how you would feel if your OH announced that he was so happy with you that he had decided to take a second wife!
DD1 expressed herself just once by emptying all the waste paper baskets and shaking a tub of Ajax all over the house! Luckily I didn't have too many problems after that until the baby became mobile then older child would get exasperated when games were wrecked! At least by then it was easier to cope with.xx

GD1 was 3 ½ when GD2 was born, and she was so thrilled to be a big sister, but there were conflicting emotions for her. She was too gentle to bash the baby but she did her best to divert attention from the baby to herself. It lasted about a year.
