How much would your family know?

On our way out this morning OH asked if my appointment was for a hearing test! Told him for the nth time it was the pain clinic. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of medical history he would impart if I wasn't conscious or able to do so myself!

You could find yourself in a place you didn't need to be Shem... Start worrying. 😁

Hubby knows what's wrong with me but I do have a spare prescription in my bag with my epi pens with a little note saying what I take things for , I also carry Hospital letters about all Brians treatments and what drugs he's allergic too but the kids would have no idea to be honest apart from my Diabetes they don't know I have anything else wrong at least I don't think they do , well I know D'S doesn't my head would have to be tucked under my arm for him to notice anything was wrong with me 😊

I think Brian would know,he always reminds me I need a new script for my meds. I can understand you carrying stuff related to your Brian Oma,very important.

Mine wouldn't have a clue, he knows I take tablets but he thinks they are for my back even though I've told him countless times they are for my Hiatus Hernia and IBS .
What's even worse he keeps calling his GTN spray for his angina his 'inhaler' . I have told him if he collapses in the street and a paramedic is called its no good telling them he needs his inhaler , they will end up treating him for an asthma attack!

As I am on Warfarin I wear an a bracelet with details on, also my record card. I also have a copy of a prescription stating the drugs I take.

I'd never thought of this! I have no idea if OH knows my medical history or not. I think we need to have a talk.

Shem - thanks for bringing the subject up.

Might be best to write it down Daisy! Words don't seem to penetrate some male brains. Both of my girls are allergic to various antibiotics so I made them cards for their purses and pin boards. I also kept a copy for myself.

I keep a copy of my prescription list in my purse which would give a rough idea, hopefully. I also keep business cards from OH and DD1 though perhaps I should remove the former in case he tells an ambulance crew to take me to Specsavers!

Shem - you're right! I write events/appointments on the calendar in the kitchen and he doesn't 'see' them either! I'm lucky my meds list is very short - BP and Statins - but even so it's a good idea to keep a note of them in my purse. Thanks for the tip.

Eva, our new dog, is allergic to chicken and I'm going to get her a tag with that on in case she ever gets lost.

Maybe I should do similar....ABneg and no tests on right arm. How about a tattoo in a discreet place? No good if meds change though. I suppose the tattoo could be made into a flower or something....

I think OH and DDs know that I am on BP meds, and more importantly penicillin and amoxycillin allergic.

DD1 has a nut allergy. All her old friends know, but I bet her fellow mummy friends don't, as it is so long since she had a reaction.

Fortunately, I have no need for medication - long may it stay that way!

OH takes omeprazole and has had two cataract ops and two hernia ops. He is also allergic to penicillin. Most of my meds are pain ones apart from BP tablets. The history of Pagets is complicated even for me so I will let him off on that one!
