Ooh Oma, he's already a hero because he is doing it. I'm sure if it were me I would feel similar to you. It'll soon be over. Is he fighting a professional?

Two of my boys were champion kick boxers, one a world champion four times. The other, the youngest one, was a semi pro ice hockey player and when he was 17 was so good was playing up to the senior team. We took him to Ally Pally to play in semi pro match and this enormous Canadian kept body checking him, it was constant. To my sons shame I stood up and shouted very loudly "leave him alone, pick on someone your own age". Son came across and said "please do not shout out it is embarrassing.". About six months later both of the other boys were boxing in championship matches. I had never been before. I did not want to see them getting kicked and punched. Eldest came to me before proceedings began calling and said "whatever happens your bum has to stay on that seat and you need to sellotape your mouth together, DO NOT SHOUT OUT".

Haha That is something I would do Zizi . I really don't like Boxing but I also think I don't like the thought of my baby fighting or getting hurt

Oma - I definitely couldn't watch my sons boxing. Not that they ever have - the most physical sport they ever did was Judo, and even that I found it hard to watch!

I've photographed a professional boxer over a number of years (for his publicity stuff) and I even used to worry about him getting hurt!

OH used to do boxing when he was at school. TG DS has never shown any particular interest. When DS has his year out travelling he only told me after he had done anything like skydiving, whitewater rafting etc. I would have been a nervous wreck otherwise.

I would worry and hate it too Oma, if I had a son, or if it was one of my SILs (laughable idea )

I hope your lad is OK xxx

Yes Oma, I would worry as well. Hope he came through unscathed.

Oma - good, honours even, and both ok. I'm sure the training is good for fitness and general health, but let's hope it's a long time, if ever, that he has another fight.
