    Bad news

Doctors have found a mass in Tommie's dad chest.
He's booked in for surgery on the 14th October at the Northern General in Sheffield.
Up to now they think its benign, but can't be sure until they get it out.
J, had the choice of having it done straight away,or leaving it for 6 months to see if it changed in size.
He opted to have it done ASAP,just wants to get it out.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I can understand getting it removed as soon as possible. Hopefully it's a benign lump, but still better to get it removed.
Hope it all goes well for him.

Nanto, I hope it is benign, DS2 had a few "lumps" removed a few years ago and they were "fatty lumps", luckily!

Nan2, let 's all hope this is benign. That the doctors think it is is a really good sign.

I would have opted for getting it sorted ASAP as well.

            Sending all good wishes xxx

Nanto, I'm so sorry. I know what an awful shock it is when you get news like that.

I think the fact that the doctor gave J options suggests that he thinks it is benign and I agree with everyone else, getting it operated on now is best. Sending love and best wishes to you all. xx

Nanto I’m sorry to hear about this. I agree it’s better to get on with it. The doctors can’t be too concerned if J was given the option of waiting 6 months which they wouldn’t have done if they were really concerned.

Nan2 I agree with the others, operating now is far better than waiting.
6 months can seem like a lifetime when it comes to children's health.
