    Worrying day .

Been a bit of a tense day,
Got a call at lunch time to say my Sisters GS my GN had been in a bad crash and had to be cut out of his van,
Not sure how it happened yet but it involved a HGV and his van.

Fire engines from 3 areas, police Ambulance etc and the A1 was closed northbound for a while,
His partner is Epeleptic and when Police knocked on the door to inform her she had a fit .
Luckily their little girl was at her other Nana’s.

He has just been discharged from Hospital, lots of cuts Bruises and his face is a bit of a mess, Bruising across his chest and hips from his seat belt but no really serious injuries
They are all staying at my nieces his Mothers tonight .

They didn’t want to tell the little one who is 4 that he crashed incase it scared her so she thinks he fell out of his van because he forgot to lock the door 😁

He has been extremely lucky has to go back tomorrow for more X-rays just to be sure ,
My niece said that’s going to be difficult as he is so sore he can hardly move now,he will feel worse tomorrow .

Oh what a tense worrying day that must have been Oma.

A terrible accident. Thank goodness he wasn't more seriously hurt.

That does sound like a terrible accident Gem, they were lucky to get out, the injuries will heal, it will be painful though for a while. I hope he feels better today.xxx

Just seen this. What a horrific accident. Just look at that van! Even to be allowed home is a miracle. I hope he recovers well physically and mentally.

His leg has swelled up and his wrist is damaged, he’s in a lot of pain but considering the wreck it’s a lot better than it could have turned out x

Oma - that must have been an horrific impact. It makes me feel sick for him just to look at it. He really is lucky to have relatively few injuries. Do you know how it happened?

I'm sure all our Grannies will join me in sending him "Get Well Soon" messages.

Looks like they were both moving from the slip road into fast traffick ,
For whatever reason the HGV in front braked and looks like my GN was too close and couldn’t brake quick enough or wasn’t watching what was happening in front of him .

Oh, Oma. He must have been terrified seeing he couldn't stop in time.

He could well have been looking right to watch the traffic in the lane he was joining.
