GS2 and his long-term partner were married in a registry office in a nearby town. Just close family and their friends were at the ceremony, rather unusual music chosen by the bride and a rather amusing poem was read by my GD1. The bride looked fabulous. After the ceremony we crossed over to the green opposite to have pics taken. It was absolutely freezing. The photographer called us when she wanted us and we had some taken of just our family, after she got us into line we then had to start chatting to our neighbour. The bride and groom then left in a gorgeous white soft top mini with the photographer following to have some pics taken elsewhere. The family and other guests then left on a coach to go to the venue which was a disused small church in the town, it is used as an Arts Centre. The florists had been in the morning and turned it into a sort of forest. We were greeted with glasses of bubbles by the staff and our food was being cooked outside in large paella pans. They arranged the guests along the steps with confetti waiting for the bride and groom who were due to arrive. The food was amazing and then the band arrived and the dance floor was crowded with the younger generation who were really enjoying themselves. There was a break in the dancing and we were treated to am amazing show of Chinese dragons, men in costumes of course. They were so exciting and colourful. The only downside was that I had chosen my rather thin outfit in the summer and consequently I was frozen and the venue was not really suitable for an old lady, there were steps and the toilets were in a building across the car park. There was more food in the evening, lovely tasty finger food. I left in a taxi about 10pm. I think the family got back about 12.

Plant, what a lovely informal wedding. I love the way couples are planning what suits them these days rather than the much more formal stiff weddings which most people had in our day.
I wish your GS2 and his wife good health and happiness.
You can't win with clothes with the British weather. I hope you had a good warming tot or two when you got home. x
