I will see my mum on Mother's Day!

Today we had the official email advising on care home visits from next week.

I emailed back immediately to book to see my mum on the first Sunday, which is Mother's Day. In my email t0 her at the beginning of next week I will be able to say I will see her on Sunday
I will try to fix a visit on Fridays when I collect the GC from school after that. I am the only one who can visit for now. Visits must be prebooked. Only half an hour, with PPE and a covid test when I get there, but it's a big step after 11 months.

Gem - I'm so very pleased both for you and your mum. Make sure you've got tissues handy, I'm sure you will both feel very emotional. xx

              Thanks everyone

Does anyone have any idea why we have been asked to wear 'short sleeved upper garments' when visiting??!! Leaving coat etc in the car I understand, but this makes no sense. I will be asking the manager about it.
My mum has a thing about people not being warm enough, she will be horrified!

Lovely news Gemini, your mum will be so emotional to see and hold you. I think the reason for short sleeves is because the PPE is loose and any long sleeved garment might not be covered.

Gem, your mum might not notice what you're wearing under the PPE, and she will be so pleased to see you. By now she's probably used to seeing nurses and care staff with short sleeves, so it may not look strange to her anyway.

That’s lovely news Gem. I bet you wouldn’t mind wearing a swimsuit if it enabled you to see your Mum😀

It was lovely to see mum and be with her in her room.
The flowers we sent were beautiful, and I was pleased to see my sister's care home had sent some, and card for her too.

I have updated more on YEO.
