    Minor catastrophes!

As I have said on Chat, DD1 scalded her hand on Christmas Day and had to have it treated in hospital. She has been back twice for dressing changes and they say is is progressing as expected. She had hoped for a smaller bandage last time but they gave her a bigger one! They said the smaller one was pulling on her skin. Having a thumb and two fingers out of action makes life hard, including no driving!

Yesterday DD3 and SIL came here for a conservatory visit.
On the way home a car swerved in front of them on the roundabout DD braked and the car behind ran into the back of her. Thank goodness no one was hurt, and it should all be covered by insurance.
It was the first accident for either DD or SIL, so they were quite shaken.
All the rest of the family have had some sort of incidents over the years, so we could all advise and reassure.

Let that be an end to it!!!

Gem, it must have been a nasty burn, I hope it soon heals. Your DD 3 would be shaken after the accident, luckily no one was hurt.xx

Gem, hopefully your family is getting all these horrible things out of the way before the end of the year. Next year has got to be better!

BTW - What an awful shock for your DD and SIL. I do hope they are ok from their accident, but if either of them has a stiff neck tomorrow it needs to be checked for insurance purposes. It happened to my OH some years ago. He was ok at the time, but the next day his neck was really sore and he needed treatment for quite a while, which the other driver's insurance paid for.

        Is her car badly damaged?

Gem, glad the car accident wasn't worse than it was.
As Daisy said, they need to aware of whiplash symptoms tomorrow.

Gemini, how frightening for your DD and SIL, pleased to hear there were no casualties apart from the cars.

Did S attack her waiting puzzles?

Thanks everyone. I will check on them today regarding after effects of the bump. Their car wasn't very damaged. The car which ran into the back of them took the brunt of the damage,.Having been in that driver's position last year I know how that feels. My car was written off, even though we were in a slow moving stop-start traffic queue.

Plant yes OH started the photo jigsaw I gave her for Christmas.

Gem - I'm glad your DD's car got off relatively lightly, but it can be surprising how some minor damage is too expensive to repair. I do hope your DD's isn't one of those!

When it happened to my OH some years ago the driver who hit him kept ringing us up to yell at us for wrecking his car!! These days it makes you wonder about having to exchange details - the car number plate and insurance company should be enough to identify the people involved.
