    Remembering

Yesterday was my Brothers Twin DD's 51st Birthdays

I felt so old remembering them as babies , when they were only 6 month old my SIL miscarried with another set of twins ,
She then went on to have two more children 15 years later

I went to stay at my brothers to look after them and the other two children they were all under the age of 3

My Nephew was 10 month old when his sister was born and she was 11 month old when the twins were born , so 4 babies under 27 month by then

My SIL was in hospital almost two weeks , that was the norm in those days ,

Mornings were fun making a big bowl of porridge sitting 4 babies in a row and feeding them one spoon at a time
Getting them all washed and dressed and in a huge Silvercross twin pram to walk them to my mothers house , It was like pushing a bus .

Night times were a challenge feeding during night , but as i recall they were very good babies for sleeping through .
As there was only 11 month between the 3 girls people thought they were triplets,

I look at them now and see what lovely people they have became but where have those years gone

They are a very close knit family and missed my Brother being there a lot yesterday , quite a few tears when i phoned each of them last night .

Lovely memories that seem at times a very long time ago and sometimes not so long ago

Oma, that would keep you going. 4 babies in just over 2 years. They would all be missing their father yesterday. Lots of lovely memories.

Goodness what a handful. I am sure you are all still upset about your brother's death, so unexpected.

4 babies would certainly keep you on your toes.
Only natural that they would miss their dad yesterday.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

My SIL was a natural mother , having 4 babies all in nappies in the days of terry nappies just didnt faze her at all
She always had an immaculate home , well dressed babies and took them everywhere , No car in them days , she walked or got them all on the bus ,
In the summer they spent lovely days at the beach or picnics in the park .

But it does seem so long ago

Oma - what an amazing family, and you must have loved being so involved with the babies. Four babies in 27 months must be hectic to say the least and your help must have made a huge difference.

It's funny how time behaves - it seems like yesterday and yet so long ago, doesn't it, and I'm sure they were all missing J. It was kind of you to ring the birthday girls, and I'm sure it made them feel closer to their Dad. xx

Pregnant again, twins or otherwise, when twins are a few months old

They sound a lovely family Oma. Memories are precious xx

Yes Gem can you imagine another set of Twins ,

it meant there was 4 babies in 21 month when the twins were born.

Oldest was 27 month, next one was 17 month and twins were just 6 month when i looked after them , couldnt do that today

She then went 15 years had my niece the one who had the large bowel removed,
Then my Nephew the one who ran the marathon for the boxing club when his Dad died

                  Glutton for punishment
