    Silly SIL!

I was feeling very sorry for my SIL as it was his birthday yesterday. DD is away for work and his parents away on holiday. His day would be work and looking after the children on his own. He told me me GD got up and arranged his cards and presents though
Today I felt even sorrier when I realised he hadn't looked in the post box on the wall next to their gate to look for birthday cards!!
So the card with voucher that I posted in there on Tuesday when I was on my way to DD1's house, and any cards which came by post were not seen!
I had a struggle to get mine in there so heaven knows how full it was by today
When OH asked if he had got our voucher, he said it hadn't occurred to him to look in the post box.
Honestly, how daft can you get?
I'm guessing DD probably empties it, but surely if it is your birthday you would check for mail?? Let alone any other important mail which may come
There is no letter box in their door, so this is the only place for any post.
I asked GD to make sure he checked it once they got home tonight. He texted to thank me for card and voucher, so now it has been emptied.

Gem, poor chap! Family away on his birthday and then doesn't even get his cards! I'm sure he will check the post box in future.

He's very intelligent too Oma, but in some ways obviously not

Very intelligent people often don't look for the obvious. Poor man, work, no wife and no cards.

He can't even celebrate tonight as he has to go to the airport to collect his parents at 11.30 pm!
            I hope they celebrate tomorrow.

Not the best of birthdays for him then. Poor man.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Your poor SIL, Gem. Not his best birthday ever. I do hope he gets to celebrate eventually.
