Nanto - My GDs hardly ever even wear a vest so I can't imagine what they would think about liberty bodices - especially the rubber buttons and suspenders!

Hot kaolin poultices for boils. Malt and cod liver oil in the winter. Germolene for cuts or the dreaded iodine. Arnica to bring out bruising. My mum’s go to remedy was Boots Influenza Mixture - I think she would judge how ill we were by the level of protest!

Shem - I always keep Arnica cream in for bruises, and I remember when Eva was spayed the rescue centre saying to give her Arnica tablets for a few days before and after to reduce internal bruising.

You don't seem to hear about people getting boils so much these days. I wonder if it's because of better nutrition?

I remember my dad using Snow Fire for chilblains. I think you can still buy it.

Oh chilblains, don't get them now as I am not toasting my feet in front of a fire.

Plant - I think that wss the problem for a lot of people - you'd get home freezing cold and the only heat came from an open fire, so you'd sit on top of it to thaw out as quickly as possible! My dad's chilblains stopped when he got some fur-line boots so his feet never got too cold.
