    Sledging casualty!

    Not, me, my youngest daughter.
Halifax (Nova Scotia) where they are living is on a hill. They live close to the top of that hill. There is a Citadel right at the top.
Some friends invited DD and her OH to go sledging there. SIL sensibly declined (it is well into minus figures there) DD and 2 friends went to the top of the hill. DD was in the front of sledge for two when it went faster and faster, suddenly plummeting over a summit!! They landed on the tarmac carpark at the bottom. The sledge broke. Thankfully there were no major injuries. DD has bruised her coccyx and sprained her ankle however. The friend who suggested they go and that DD go in front was uninjured. She is not in mine of my other DD's good books. DD says she is a nice friend though!

So poor DD is sore and aching in more than one place.
DD1 said Canada is dangerous, come home

Be thankful for small mercies Gem.
Things could have been so much worse.
    Hope DD recovers soon.

      Thanks Nan2, so true.

I am going to have a phone call with her in a minute. She's feeling quite fed up confined with her ankle. SILat work and they have no car there.

Gem, poor DD3, no wonder she's quite fed up, but these things happen, and it's so much easier to be wise after the event, isn't it.

Send her Granny hugs, please. xx

And I bet she wants her Mum! It's worse knowing she's so far away. Has she got one of those cushions like a doughnut to sit on to take the pressure off her coccyx?

You brought her up right Gem. Other than injuries I like it that she's independent & adventurous. Daring even. Something my first DD would do. Silly advice but try not to worry too much...just a little.

I don't think she has one of those cushions Daisy, good idea though.
                    Thanks Nana
Oma, it not very hilly where we live, so I think all my sledging was done on the flat

She's worried that she won't be able to get out if she sits in the bath Qwerty, due to her back.
It could have been much worse, as you say.
