    DD's new job

Well DD is in her second week of her new job. I hope it gives her back some self esteem and her worth as a person, and not just Rhys's appointment organiser, and Tiger Mum.!
It's just a small administration job for the local vicar. 9 hours a week, as that's all she can fit in with Rhys's appointments, and needing the flexability.
She makes arrangements for the vicar in his three churches and types up the Order of Services etc. It sounds like there's a big pile of filing to work through first.
We've not had much time to chat about it, but she's enjoying.

She needs to get out and about and feel she's a person again , its not that she doesn't love being a Mum but sometimes we forget there is a intelligent person under there don't we

Such good news. So pleased for her. It’s so easy for mothers, even ones with children without special needs, to be defined by their relationship with their children, rather than women in their own right with skills and talents and a life of their own.

It sounds like the ideal job and she will probably meet a lot of very nice people as she gets embedded in.

Jules - well done to your DD. It's not easy to get back into the workplace after a break, and all credit to her for taking the plunge, as well as finding what sounds like the ideal job for her in terms of flexibility. I'm sure she'll soon lick that filing into shape. xx

Well done to her GJ I think the hours will be much more suited to her, sounds a pleasant job too, and it gets her out of the house for her own reasons, not the children’s and to be among other grown ups good luck to her

Hope that DD enjoys her new job GJ. It's good to have something other than children to focus on even if it's only for a few hours a week!

Thanks for all the good wishes for her. It might be fate her getting this job. The vicar's wife has just retired and her job was Principal Educational Psychologist for the local council. DD is hitting a brick wall in this area in her quest in getting the best for Rhys. Hopefully they can have a chat and she can be guided in the right direction.
She's not really that pushy, but if they do happen to meet over a coffee, it would be worth a shot.
