    Praise for Dad

I suppose we never really know what people think of us, so it was really special to receive a phone call from DS2 while we were away.

My OH was a financial consultant and worked for a mutual society - not one of the big financial services companies, which can be rather faceless. The consultants worked in teams within a given area. This week our DS2 had a meeting with an ex-colleague of OH's (about pensions etc) and the ex-colleague was telling DS2 how much he had enjoyed the time he worked with my OH. He said he always worked really hard but would always help other colleagues, and how much he had learned from him, and what a gentleman he is. OH has been retired for nearly 14 years, but it was lovely to hear someone say such nice things after all that time.

Plant - what a co-incidence! Is he an Independent or does he work for a company?

My OH was based at home as well. His head office was in Birmingham. In some ways it was good working from home, but it did have its drawbacks as OH could never ignore his 'work' phone.

How lovely. He does come across as a good man in your posts.

Awww, Nana, thank you. He is lovely, even if he has a total failure of skill in the kitchen, bless him. On his own he'd eat a bag of peanuts rather than cook a meal!
