Good Morning everyone, I am so sorry I have not been here for so long, I have missed you all and think about you often. It has been a horrible few years to be honest, as I think you know OH has Parkinson's which has progressed rapidly, this year he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer so had to endure hormone therapy and four weeks of radiotherapy everyday. The good news is that last week we were told that PSA level is not undetectable, so on to 6 month blood tests. Whilst we should be celebrating he collapsed on the landing and had to spend time in hospital, will ridiculously low blood pressure. They seem to think that it is being caused by his Parkinson's meds, so he cam rof one, but it hasn't improved, so no idea what happens now. He is so low, which is not like him at all and very tearful. I am not coping very well, and am ashamed that I am not. It is a lonely place to be. xxxxx Thank you for letting me unload and thanks for the email which kickstarted me to post.

Jane, how lovely to hear from you!
But what a rough time you have been having. I'm so sorry and sometimes life just throws far too much on us.
Please know you can offload and share with us here anytime.
I have reinstated your Platinum status, which means you can access the YEO section again. You may prefer to post more personal stuff in there. There is a 'sticky' in there specifically concerning OH and other loved ones health concerns.
On a lighter note it would be lovely if you shared some of your fantastic artwork on the creative thread.
Take care xxx“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Tough news both for M and for you. These diseases are a roller coaster and it takes time for the medics to balance the doses and treatment for each individual patient. I have two friends with Parkinson’s and I know it’s no picnic. However M has had surgery which has greatly reduced the tremor so there is hope out there. I do hope his medication will be balanced shortly and that you will be able to have him home again.

Jane, I'm so sorry to hear of M's health problems. I can quite understand you must feel as though the punches just keep coming. It's not surprising that you are both feeling tearful and in low spirits. The effects of radiotherapy can make themselves felt for long after the treatment has finished, so between that and his Parkinson's drugs I hope the doctors can work out why his BP dropped.
Stay strong for M, but lean on your family and friends as you need support as well. As others have said, there is always a listening ear here on GRU.
Keep in touch. x"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

So sorry to hear about Ms health problems .
When B was going through his years of treatments this place was a haven of support for me ,
Always someone day or night to off load my worries too.
Talking to friends is good as you don’t always want to burden your family with it .
People forget the person looking after the patient need looking after too.
Bs BP went very low and still is
,it’s a matter of getting the right tablet and dosage plus his Parkinson's meds could be clashing .
I do hope they sort him soon .
We are always here for you whenever you need us xxx
