    Crochet-a-long

Today Daisy asked me about my crochet so thought I’d tell you about the Crochet-a-long I’ve joined in with, A CAL is when someone, usually a crochet blogger, releases a pattern week by week and everyone joins in to make whatever the pattern is for. Usually something big like a blanket or a large shawl. You don’t have to stick to the pattern religiously, especially with this particular person I am following, but the idea is you follow along as best you can with her ideas for colours, stitches etc. It’s great fun especially when you see what everyone else is doing, there is usually a FB group, set up so you can chat between yourselves and it’s lovely to talk to people from all over the world who are making the sam or similar thing as yourself. There are often kits you can buy with all the wool needed or you just use whatever you have.

So for anyone interested in crochet, or knitting, have a look at some of the CALs that are out there, some lovely work being done. I’m really enjoying this one and will be sorry when it’s finished, not much more to do now.

Ive added the link for you to see.

    That sounds really good Enfys!
A fun thing, and a chance to do a craft you enjoy.

I could actually crochet when I was about 15, which is amazing as I can't knit or sew. It was a craze at school and we did it at lunchtime. Not a club, we just chose to do it. I wish I had kept it up!

Oooh Enfys that looks very interesting. I may delve further later.

Its years since I did anything , you know I gave up a lot of crafts because of my shakes and fingers, but I think I could manage this .
I might get some wool and hooks and give it a go , thanks Enfys

I'm in the same class as Libra Gran for crocheting! I've tried, and I can't! But I can't knit or sew either, so perhaps I shouldn't be surprised! I can actually produce rows of knitting in basic stitches, but sticking at it long enough to produce a finished product is my main problem!

But how I wish, wish, wish I could produce that CAL Woodland blanket. The colours are glorious and so warming and cherry.

Looking forward to seeing yours finished, Enfys.

What a lovely idea Enfys.I can do a basic chain and a few rows but have never tackled increasing and decreasing. Knitting is more my thing.

Did you buy the wool Enfys, lovely colours and do you follow the pattern on the a screen, I would have a go if I had the pattern in front of me, my printer doesn't work.

I bought the wool, Plant and the pattern which is so easy, is on her blog which I look at on the iPad. I’m actually doing another of her blankets with the woodland wool kit as it was a bit easier.
It’s not finished yet, have a few more rows then the borders.
