I| have spent a few years on our family trees and have quite a few files with all the paperwork, certificates etc as well as loads on the computer. I decided last week to reorganise my files.......so now I'm surrounded by paper, photos, newspaper cuttings etc Also I get sidetracked when trying to file stuff away and end up on the computer doing more research! But, I am finding more and more about my family so that's the main thing. Does anyone else do this?

Yes I do Enfys im the same have lots of files I tried a few weeks ago to reorganise them but was so much I gave up till another day , my Paternal Grandmothers family was easy to trace they never moved from the same village in Malton for a good couple hundred years im back to the 1400 with them lots of research etc and help from very long lost distant cousins I found out that my Great grandmothers sisters were all around 4ft 3inch so now I know why im a midget my Grandfathers family are a little harder as they came from Scotland and its quite a common name they have so could go down many dead ends if not careful , my Mothers side very easy too they never left the east end of my home town . Actually there is a strange story on my Fathers side . my father had a much older sister who was a unmarried mother back in the early 1900 a great sin in them days and we never knew much about her DD only that my Aunt had gone on to marry and have two more children . we were in my Hubby mothers s house one day and MIL`s neighbour a elderly lady was there some how we got talking and I mentioned I was researching my family and mentioned the name , well it turned out this lady was my aunts illegitimate DD I had no idea and I have known this lady for a number of years . I developed a close bond with her but sadly she died a few yrs later but in her will she left my Grandfathers family Bible to me , I have no idea how she had it but talking to a relative I found out my Grandparents had supported her through school and my Grandfather had walked her down the isle when she married
Im not fat just 6ft too small

What an amazing story Oma. Tried to do a bit more reorganising this afternoon but ended up looking at BMD's instead
