Ooops, I lost the rest of my post.
WeeGranny, I'm ready to give up - yours are great, and so varied.
I know how hard it is to do good seascapes, especially getting waves to crash onto each other and you can all but feel the spray of the SV Chair one. You kingfisher looks very determined to catch his lunch - I've never tried painting birds but I know it's not easy.
Are the tulips fused glass? I bed they look great when they catch the sunlight (in our dreams at the moment!).
Thankyou so much for sharing them. Aren't those double mount frames lovely? They really set the pictures off.

Thanks Daisy! Variety of media…acrylic, fused glass, pastels and watercolour pencils! I have quite enjoyed doing smaller pieces especially the birds! The class tutor encouraged me to try them and grid up the work first. Pain to do but results are better 😁
Don’t give up on your painting!!Believe you can and you're halfway there.

WeeGranny, how do you get on with watercolours? I'm giving them a try. I've watched a few tutorials and have now got some proper watercolour paper. Do you sketch your picture first then paint, or just paint onto the paper? I've been experimenting a bit with wet on dry and wet on wet, and really like the effects you can get. Incorporating them into a picture might be another matter, though.

Daisy, I haven't used watercolour paints for quit some time now. The kingfisher was done in watercolour pencil as was my other little bird ( thought I'd posted, but maybe not!). I tend to experiment with the paints and am always amazes at what effects can be achieved! Sadly, I can never replicate the effects though! Just go for it and see what happens!Believe you can and you're halfway there.

WeeGranny, that's interesting - I couldn't work out what medium you'd used for the kingfisher - the bough looked like watercolour but I wasn't sure about Mr Kingy himself. Thanks for explaining.
I had a very quick go at watercolour this afternoon, on proper watercolour paper. I used a mixture of watercolours and watercolour brush pens - never used them before. I could have spent a lot more time trying to finish it off in some way, but I'm trying to stop myself endlessly fiddling with a picture and never calling it 'finished'. I was fairly happy with the trunk of the palm tree, but need practice generally!
