How to survive Wimbledon if you don't like tennis??

I don't have the answer to this one, but maybe I will after the weekend!
OH and I are going to the ladies final on centre court on Saturday. It was really lucky to get tickets for this date and court in the draw, apparently. OH would have preferred the men's final but was very happy with this. She has always wanted to go to Wimbledon. She's an avid fan but has never been.
She wanted me to go with her, although she knows I dislike all sports. In her shoes I would prefer to take a fellow tennis fan, but she wants me to go. We will stay in Wimbledon Friday and Saturday nights.
I shall have my fully charged Kindle in my bag, but I don't think it will be on to read it much LOL.
    I will people-
watch, watch the players and the match, but I think I will be sooo bored.!!!

Gemini, even though you don't like tennis, I think you will find yourself caught up in the atmosphere. I've never been either, but pretty much any sporting event is better when you see it for real. Years ago my OH's employer used to sponsor the indoor bowls championships (yawwwwnnn!) which was held at an arena near us. Even though I have absolutely zero interest in bowls it was quite entertaining watching the people who clearly eat and sleep the game, plus all the goings-on and organisation for the tv cameras. I must admit the hospitality suite helped a little, but time passed very pleasantly.

And your OH will be very happy.

Oh I sympathise. I've been there. Except it wasn't tennis. It was motor racing. And that's much worse.

You will get caught up in it Gem, I did. I do not enjoy sport, I love a bit of golf, or used to but it is like watching paint dry for me OH adores it all and has a TV just for sport. Which means I don;t see much of him in the summer! I don't mind as I can get on with what I like to see if I bother at all.

It is all about the crowd Gem, the people the cheering the tension. Hopefully you will become absorbed,. XXX

I think you will get caught up in the atmosphere Gemini. Take note of all the famous faces you will see, that's what I would do.
Don't forget to have strawberries and cream both of you.

Very tempting offer to sit and read in your garden Plant I do love Pimms, so maybe a couple of those will help!

We used to watch motor racing as a family - though I used to take a book or magazine. Eventually it got too expensive so oh goes on his own occasionally.

He is actually at the cricket today as he was given two tickets and it didn't occur to either of us that I should accompany him! Instead my youngest brother has travelled up from Sussex and they went off this morning at silly o'clock.

I used to swap with colleagues so they could get home in time to watch the tennis. I preferred working afternoons so everyone was happy!

Tennis is a sport which has never interested me but eldest son is a tennis fanatic in fact he reinvented himself to a tennis coach when we lived abroad to earn extra money I do think the attractive ladies from the tennis club had a lot to do with that part of his CV.

Gemini - it looks as though you will get some sunshine to enjoy tomorrow on Centre Court. We shall look out for you and wave! Have a lovely time.

Most of my friends are passionate fans. I, on the other hand am not. We will play cards on Monday as usual and the talk will be tennis, tennis, tennis tennis, tennis.
OH is watching now and keeps telling me how exciting it is. 😩
