    Knitting

For the last few months I’ve been knitting small soft toys for a local charity called Whizzknits. It provides these toys to our three local hospitals for children to have after blood tests, other procedures or hospital stays. They also knit items for school projects and raffles etc.for our local hospice. I like making small things as I don’t get bored. I ‘m just not so keen on sewing up some of the more fiddly items!

My nephews wife knits clothing for premature babies, she has done this for years. I love knitting but not small fiddly items.

Oh Clover they are adorable, and what a lovely thing to do!

It must be so nice to make things which will make someone so happy

Clover, they are gorgeous. I'm sure they make a lot of children smile after a difficult or painful procedure.

Clover, Just been to physio, she has told me that she has a client who is looking for another charity to knit for after being told that the needy young mums have said they don’t want the hand knitted items! I will pass your info on. 😁

Grauntie, I'm sorry you can't see the photos. I don't understand why but we keep trying to resolve this problem when it shows up randomly, as far as we can tell.

Perhaps I'm out of touch but you'd think needy mums would be delighted to have lovely hand-knitted items for their babies!

I love to see a baby in a hand knitted cardigan. I stopped knitting for my GGC.

Sadly not many new mums want knitted toys or hand knitted clothes , it’s not the trend at the moment .
Little ones would love to cuddle something like that I’m sure , something nice and squishy but parents today think little ones have to have all singing bells and whistles new toys made of plastic .
