    High flying birds

Last June we had great excitement as a pair of peregrine falcons nested in the top tower of the church I belong to. They were obviously very happy there as they reared three chicks and Frances, who is married to our parish priest, has captured their progress over the weeks. They’ve caused huge interest in the birding community in Greenwich and a couple of very skilled photographers have taken amazing photos of them in mid flight, feeding beheaded parakeets to their young and settling on the cross right at the top of the steeple.

There’s an account of their progress in the photo attached and if you want to see the photos on Twitter the link is StellaMaris @MarisCrooms.

Sum1 - what exciting guests to your church. I'm going out in a few minutes but I'll be back to read all about them. They are magnificent birds - a photographer local to us has captured some wonderful shots of PFs nearby. It's incredibly difficult to photograph BIFs (birds in flight!) so hats off to those photographers.

These birds seem to like churches.
We have seen them for the past few years ay Wakefield cathedral.

Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

              What excitement for the church!

My 6 year old GS who saw me reading the link, tells me that are faster animals than a cheetah. The fastest animals in the world according to him.
