I almost didn't yet the Wordle word today!

I had the last 3 letters in the right positions from guess 2, but kept guessing the wrong word until the last go.

Does anyone still do Wordle? I do every day, but rarely do Quordle or Octordle now.

Today answer is an everyday word, but it took me six goes to get it

Gem, yes, I do Wordle and the Spelling Bee every day. I haven't looked at today's yet, but sometimes find the 'easy' ones take more goes because you get to a stage where there are several possible answers and it's pot luck what you try first.

I usually leave it until tea-time to tackle them both.

I do Wordle most days. Got it in two a few days ago! I wonder what the odds are on getting it in one !😀

Clover, well done on your success of getting it in two. I always start with the same word and have got it in two very occasionally, but never in one! If it ever happens, I'll sing it from the rooftops.

That’s interesting Gem. When my DD occasionally does Wordle she always starts with the same word. I usually go for anything sensible that pops into my head. If I can’t think of a good word I resort to one of my two old faithfuls! I’ve never tackled the more advanced ones.I don’t think I could cope.😀

Clover, On Tom's guide there's a whole lot of information about letter use/frequency. They give examples of "good" starting words - although none of them are the same as mine. But it's based on letter frequency in the English Language, and the most common starting and ending letters. They are much the same letters in each case as I remember from the theory of teaching typing, back in the day when we had manual typewriters!

If you read the article be careful scrolling down, because it gives clues and the answer for each day.
