Plant - good for you! What are you going to paint?

If anyone is thinking of buying art materials, I've just ordered some canvases and tubes of acrylic from ArtWorldOnline. Winsor & Newton, Galeria are only £2.34 for 60ml, so cheaper than, say, Amazon. A pack of 4 mixed media canvas, 12" x 16" were £14.96.

That's worth knowing Daisy, thanks. I was thinking of buying some canvases.

Gem - I watched a YouTube video which talked about the differences in quality and finishes on canvasses. I shall have to go back and find it again because I didn't really take it all in!

You artistic ladies might be interested to know that if you have Sky, Portrait Artist of the Year is on Sky Arts on 23rd June for another series. there is also a programme called Landscape Artist of the Year, not sure when that will be back. Both are well worth watching

Plant - I've watch both Portrait and Landscape series at various times. I must admit I've enjoyed the landscapes more - I like the idea of them being outdoors reacting to what Mother Nature throws at them, and how different they all are. I must look out for them both though.

Have you got your paints out yet?

Hobbycraft have canvasses which are good for when you're just starting out.

Yes Daisy, I looked out my watercolour paints and books. I do like to do pencil drawings.

WeeGranny - thanks for that - I didn't thinks about Hobbycraft.

Plant - well done. I'm such rubbish at drawing, but I love to see other people's. Get your pencils sharpened.

I think The Works sell a lot of art stuff too, possibly cheaper than Hobbycraft?

I hadn't heard to this company, Gem, but I've had a quick look online and they do seem very reasonable. Thanks for the tip.

I've just checked and our nearest branches are Southampton and Christchurch. I've never noticed them!
