The finished article. I had enough to make two, one for my hairdresser and one for her daughter. They are both keen riders.

Grauntie - they look amazing. I love the variety of colours within the plaiting, and I'm sure both your hairdresser and her daughter will be delighted.
Gem - here in the New Forest the ponies are rounded up every autumn and as well as a health check their tails are cut into a given pattern - so lots of horse hair around here! In case anyone thinks the tails are hacked off cruelly, they're just trimmed and the pattern denotes which area of the Forest they belong to."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Gem, I’m sure DD1 can lop a lump off a passing horse! If you would like one send me OH’s wrist measurement.
WG you are right, it is very springy. The girls at DD’s yard are expert at plaiting manes for shows. I would hate them to plait my hair, I would end up with a non-surgical face lift and a permanent smile! 😬
I was interested to hear about the New Forest ponies Daisy, I have learned something new.
Thank you all for your kind comments.

Yes that was interesting about the new forest ponies, must have a look next time I am there (if ever). Grauntie now you have opened the flood gates for orders, my GD is a horse lover and would love one. Unfortunately se can't afford her own horse but gets a ride where she can. Unfortunately I am allergic to horses. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Happy to make one for anyone who wants one. Just send wrist size, the findings on the end will give the ‘slack’. I have access to the rear end of a horse or two, but can’t guarantee a specific colour.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.
