    New 'projects'.

I think I said previously about my DD2 asking me to make a quilt for my GD out of her 1st yr clothes. Well it's taken this long to work out how to do it. There's lots of stretchy fabric + wool +denim, allsorts. Researched the method & I need interfacing for the stretchy jersey & wool. So far I've cut up/ironed all the clothes pieces, measured & cut the interfacing, so my next job is to iron it onto the fabric pieces to cut out. Next step will then be to stitch the pieces together. I'm not looking past that stage just yet.

Being a devil for punishment I've started to knit a Gryffindor scarf for GS3 who now insists on being called Harry. 🤣 His mummy said she popped her head around the corner of the soft play & shouted "Harry Potter"! She ended up with 3 more children than she expected. Ha. Oops.

I've found an easy HP doll to knit which shouldn't take long & somewhere in all this DD1 would like me to make a HP jumper for him for Christmas. I had to find another pattern today for it. Knitting in the round I've done once, so decided I need a quick & easy technique. Uncomplicated. The decider was when I looked at the instructions, because as well as using a circular needle I had to BO certain groups of stitches. What? Bind off apparently. Eeek. No, it's nothing to do with body odour.😄 I watched a video how to do it & I was instantly lost.

This week I need to make the Christmas cakes & make the Picalilli. Was going to do the latter today but I've got all week. The sloe gin I'm making for a Christmas present is in a dark cupboard plumping up the sloe berries & fermenting. No-one can say I have idle hands.😉🤣

You sound very bright and positive today Nana. I wish you lived nearer to me I am about to embark on a Christmas table runner, the fabric has been cut by the instructor and is sitting neatly in a wicker box waiting until the day of the class. I just need to buy some wadding and backing fabric.

Nana - wow, that should keep you busy for a while! I couldn't do any of those projects but even if I could I think I'd need about 10 years!

Plant - that sounds an interesting project too.

I'd love to see photos of everyone's finished work if possible.

Plant I wish I lived nearer too. It's the same with anything. It's only when you start a project that you feel ok about it. That's how I feel anyway.

Picalilli made today & in kilner jars 'maturing' for 3-4wks. Don't know what it'll taste like. It was quite funny because I needed a certain spice so I looked in the cupboard where the herbs & spices are all kept. Checked the dates on them all & the oldest herb was 2003! Oma, Libra, Qwerty... I heard those gasps of horror from here.😲

I went through a stage, (must have been 2003?) of getting lots of herbs/spices, labelling the jars etc & if I say so myself it looked very impressive. So impressive most of them are still there untouched. Ha! There were about 6 still in date, which are used on a regular basis. I have thrown the old one's out & will just replace the ones I use now.

Christmas cakes tomoro. Don't fret.... the mixed spice goes out of date 2021.🤣

(Oma... You're right. I hope it keeps my mind busy too. You know me too well.x)

WG - that is so clever. Is that a cable at the sides?

What a good idea for baby clothes, expecially if the baby has sensitive skin that's gets rubbed by seams.
