I hid the rocks this morning. It was a lovely sunny day and I needed to go to the shop anyway.
I put one on a low wall near the nursery so I imagine that one will be seen today. I walked home the same way, and all were still in place.
I will paint some more before half term, and will encourage the GC to do some too. GS1 and I intend to hide and hunt for rocks during the daytime on Halloween, as he is with me that day.

A lot of local businesses have got involved in this.
They decorate and hide a rock, which has a note with it, telling the finder this is a prize rock. They then have to photograph the rock and post it on the Rocks FB page. They are then given a code, which they take to claim the prize. More fun for the children

Remembered this post as my dd1 found a painted rock on the top of rose berry topping and has re hid it on Monday so gs1 wants to go rock hunting now as each town/ village has a facebook page which tells you were they were found and which town they are going to hide it
