I have been following the FB page for our village rocks initiative , and am very keen to take part.
I have found out where to buy some (Scottish cobbles , Β£5.99 for a big bag from The Range) and have seen hints on decorating.
So I am going to buy rocks, acrylic paints and something called Mod Podge, which is also used for decoupage, which I am keen to try. I already have Sharpies, for GD, which are good for drawing detail on your rocks.

I intend to make start, do a couple of simple designs to begin with, then work on some Halloween and Christmas ones

I haven't seen any yet, perhaps our village hasn't got going.

My lonely little rock is still under the horse chestnut tree outside. Today a swarm of about 10 little boys descended to pick up conkers, and either they didn't see it, didn't care or didn't know what it was.

Try putting somewhere more centrally in the village ?

I went to The Range while OH was making our tea. Scottish pebbles and similar pebbles all sold out
I bought Mod Podge , paints and brushes though.

Tomorrow I may paint my one rock which OH found on the golf course

Gem - yes, I need to move it!

Are Scottish pebbles special? I've just used pebbles from the area of pebbles in the back garden where the bench and a small table sit.

No, you can use any stones , but the Scottish cobbles ones are ones you can buy which are not expensive and are the right size.

Sorry I said pebbles before when I meant cobbles!!

Perhaps my little pebble is too small!

The ones in the village are about the size of a child's palm I would say. You do see larger and smaller ones, but most are about that size.

I collected flat white pebbles on the beach when we went on holiday. Think this is frowned upon but I took just 6. I made a pebble story sack for GS2 & he loved it.
