    The Queen's Funeral

The state funeral of Her Majesty is to be held on Monday September 19th at 11am.

There are several stages to the funeral which will go on until the final private service for the family in the evening.
A long and difficult day for them all I'm sure.
The day will be a bank holiday.

The queue to view the coffin and pay respects has been over 4 hours long at times.
I don't think I would want to do that even with no queues, but it must serve a purpose for those who do it.

I wouldn't have gone and stood in a queue for all that time.
But, i do plan on watching the funeral on tv.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I would not stand in a queue but that's not to say I wouldn't go to pay my respects if there were none,

Iam a royalist, although I don't like them all,
We will be watching on Monday,
This is history in the making never to be seen again on this scale.

          Oma, I totally agree.

Our children and grandchildren will tell their grandchildren about watching the Queen's State Funeral.

I have watched quite a lot of the coverage on TV and I shall be pleased when she is at last settled at Windsor with her Phillip.

              Well.
              What colour and ceremony.
              What skill dedication and professionalism.
What a glorious peace of history to witness.

Very moving. Seeing the crown on top of the coffin moved me particularly, and the lone piper playing.

It was pony that got me - and the Queen’s headscarf on Emma’s saddle.

Yes, that was very moving Sum1, and the corgis.

I agree about the corgis and Emma the pony. I also found it very moving when they took the crown, orb and sceptre off her coffin and placed them on cushions on the altar, ready for King Charles' coronation.

Both pipers sent tingles down my spine - beautiful but very poignant.
