Nana - without suffering as you do, OH and I together take 3 or 4 times as long to decorate a room these days. At one time OH would keep going until the job was done, even if he worked all through the night! In our early married days we used to do our day jobs and then go and play in the band until all hours. Then you had to pack up your kit, load it into the car, drive home, unload it and still get up for work at 6.30 the next morning. I'm tired just thinking about it!!

In a way I wish we all had appreciated all the things we had and could do which we miss now.
Having said that, I think it would be rather sad if everyone spent their youth thinking about becoming less able, more tired, more ill etc.
On balance, it's best the young don't think that way.

Ahhh, Nana - the days of my misspent youth!!! OH was a professional drummer in a rock band, then decided to leave and ended up working in a bank, but he continued to play part-time, and somehow or other I found myself playing keyboards! Very badly, but it was fun."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

No, Plant! We have still got a family drum kit (DS2 also played for a while) and an electronic keyboard. I have the keyboard up in my study and play for my own amusement sometimes - although I'm so rusty 'amusement' becomes more 'frustration'. I do my best to encourage GS2 and GD1 who are both having music lessons so I need to stay ahead of them, but ti's becoming a struggle!!
