A child in my granddaughters clàss had it a while ago. Fingers crossed it doesn't seem to have gone around the class.

I have read about this as well Oma.
My cousin had it when she was 5, so thats 61 years ago. I can remember my Auntie taking me to see her, but we could only wave to her through a window.
Anything we took for her, such as colouring books and crayons a nurse would come and take them from us.
Cousin was in hospital for 6 weeks.

My mum had it as a child, and was in hospital for several weeks. It was a serious illness in those days.
It is not considered so now. Like pneumonia, modern care and drugs have made it less dangerous. Not very nice, but nothing to fear.

Pleased you said that Gem, as I thought it was still a serious illness. My only experience of it was about 52yrs back when my cousin was rushed into an isolation ward. I really missed her as she was my best friend. Mum said she was lucky to get better from it. As you say...'thanks to modern care & drugs'.
