    Chickenpox for the second time!

Our lovely baby, just 9 months old, has chicken pox -again!
He first caught it from his sister when he was just a few weeks old. Apparently as he was so young he wouldn't have built up immunity,,so was able to catch it again, from their friends toddler. The family were in Wales over New Year with friends ( not the ones with the pox ridden child ), and the spots appeared on the day they travelled back. He's not too poorly, luckily. I miss him so much, not having seen him since Boxing Day, but dare not see him right now as I have never had chickenpox. I will have to content myself with his picture instead!

Oh poor Baby but maybe he won't get it any worse now he's already had it , my DD didn't get it till she was 10 but DS got everything early , so did the GC , B has to have his immunisation against it when his Bone marrow up and running along with other childhood immunisation be funny if we have to go to baby clinic to get them 😀
You will have to wait till he's not infectious Gem it's about 10 days isn't it ? Xx

I've had chicken pox twice, once when I was very young and then when I was 13. I remember that one so well. I was covered from head to toe, and the itching!!!! It drove me mad . Mum would slap my hand every time my hand went any where near my body.

Gem, how is he ? You must keep away as he is infectious at the moment.

Gem - poor little soul. I do hope he doesn't get it too badly this time. It's hard for you having to keep away from him for so long, too. But just think of the delight when he's not infectious - all those cuddles.

Oma - I never thought that B wouldn't have resistance to childhood illnesses. I jut assumed he would inherit whatever immunity he got from his brother when he donated the bone marrow. I can just imagine you taking him to the baby clinic. I bet you'd dress him up in a blue bonnet and a romper suit!! xx Sorry, B! I'm only joking - not putting ideas into her head.

Baby saw the GP today, who said she had never seen a happier baby in the midst of chickenpox! He is a generally very sunny baby.
She thinks his spots will crust over soon. I hope so, I am dying to see him.

I'm glad baby isn't too poorly with the dreaded pox. After Chemo I had to have all the childhood inoculations too as it knocks the immune system out.

Chicken Pox is horrible, my DD still has a scar on her eyelid and lip off it, cannot notice it only in the cold, usually it does make them miserable, pleased baby isn't too poorly with them, poor thing once is bad enough...our E ended up in hospital with it, wouldn't have thought it once, hope baby is better soon x

DD2, baby and GD a lot better. DD is meeting 2 friends later, and calling her for an hour first. I will have to wait a bit longer to see my babies!
