Oma - I can't imagine how emotional you must feel to have finally, after all the setbacks, reached this stage. I've got a lump in my throat and my eyes seem to be leaky.

I hope the sick feeling soon clears up. He's in the best place in hospital and better to stay there as long as necessary than to take any risks with the germ-laden outside world. Thank God for the amazing team of medics who have looked after him through all the ups and downs.

Brian would be the first to say he couldn't have got this far without your love, support and insistence that he didn't go into hospital with gaffer-taped slippers. I'm sure as he starts to feel better he will find it boring, so perhaps you should start practising your belly-dancing - he'll need entertainment.

Seriously, my thoughts and love are with you. Sleep well tonight xxxx

You needed that sleep Oma! It's your bodies way of giving you a total break, for a few hours, of the stress, tensions and high emotions.

How is the bone marrow put into Brian, is it liquid?
