    Shingles.

I am trying to cheer my brother up as he is due to have a kidney removed on Wednesday. He is very musical so I made this up for him. I do actually have Shingles, but that will pass. Please be on your prayer mats on Wednesday for Paul.

sung to 'I got spurs that jingle jangle jingle' by Gene Autry.
Oh I got spots that tingle tingle tingle,
As I sit here trying not to scratch.
It is a nasty, nasty dose of shingles
Now I'm waiting for more spots to hatch.
Oh dearie me, I want to be
    Free of this horrible affliction.
    I cannot mix,
    Oh what a fix,
I am alone and cannot mingle mingle mingle

Thank you ladies. P and I have been emailing all day. We have the same awful sense of humour. I am so frustrated that I can't see him. A growth on his kidney was picked up when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The shingles pale into insignificance beside what he has to go through but it isn't pleasant. Keeping busy seems to be the way to go.

GM - poor you, but great you and your brother can have such a good laugh! I'll be singing that ditty all night now.

This might cheer your brother up - my mother was born with only one kidney. It was only found out when she was in her 80s, when she was having a test for something else, and the consultant mentioned, in passing "oh, I see you've only got one kidney. Well you've managed perfectly well all this time, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.'

Sorry about the shigells suffers, you can have an injection for that now. My DS had a kidney removed last year, it was found when he had a scan for something else

Hope all will go well and that you are both back in full health before too long. Frustrating not being able to meet up at such a difficult time.

This reminded me of the rhyme my Mum sent my Dad who was away at the time.

                      Dear Dad, isn't it sad?

                      This time they have come
                      To your daughter and son
And they've measles all over their tum.
                      xx

Shingles is a nasty infection. OH had it a couple of years back and still has a bald patch where it affected his head. Hope you both recover quickly. I had a shingles jab when I had the flu one. Came out in a blistery rash where the needle went in, but it's gone now. Plant sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather. hope you feel better soon.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.
