GM - here's hoping for better luck this year with your 'flu jab. Thanks for the reminder, I still haven't done anything about ours. I suppose it's pot luck to some extent depending on which strains the jab are active against and which you get if you're unlucky. Some time ago several clever ladies here recommended taking zinc tablets to boost your immune system, and they seem to have worked for me. I take them all the year round and I do think I've had fewer colds.

DD2 has been quite poorly with a bug - cold symptoms and aching all over. She had to miss DS's 40th birthday bash for the youngsters as she felt so rotten and couldn't face travelling from Leeds to London. She said the aching had gone when I spoke to her last night so hopefully she'll be back to normal before too long. There seems to be a lot of "it" around.xx

I'd be on top of the world if I had one of those Clover... I miss Molly the Collie.
I will try the zinc, there seems to be something in the multivits I have tried that doesn't agree with me. I need one but it's not cheap to keep trying different ones.
Gem, how are you today?

GM, I'm much better thank you
I felt very slightly 'wobbly' standing waiting for GS outside his preschool, but once back in the car I was fine and have been fine since.

Must be the season for it. I went to help DD1 last week as her boy had the sickness bug, followed by her partner then herself. All in the space of 24hrs. The GC have been coughing & slputtering all over us. I started with a sore throat yesterday & now have the full blown cold. OH has started with it now too. Given up on tissues & almost finished a loo roll. Thank goodness for aloe vera..kind to the nose."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Nana - look after yourself.
GM - do you have your vitamin tablets with food? You're not supposed to take them on an empty stomach, I believe. The zinc works best with Vit C. Let me know if it helps. The house seems very quiet without a dog, doesn't it!
Gem - glad you're on the mend.
Shem - I hope your DD is getting plenty of rest and will be ok soon.
It seems a bit early for all these bugs and colds to be doing the rounds, doesn't it!!

To-day I am feeling slightly better,I had an appointment with my Dr on Monday and she has said I will just have to let the reaction to the two injections out of my system and she has put me off work for a week, considering I am on holiday until next Tuesday this has not gone down too well with AM as I will now have to rearrange my holidays once again and just by the way she had forgotten I was on holiday leave anyway (who would believe it).Quite a few people have remarked how strong the vaccine seems to be this year but this is the first time I been affected.
Hoping everyone and your families are feeling better girls I am just taking it slowly and enjoying the company of Poppy & Oliver and being waited on by OH who has been a gem.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

So many of us have been unwell!
I got a gastric bug just as I was getting over the the other thing, and had to take to my bed for a whole day. I am over that now, although feel a bit weak if I do much (so I haven't been doing much!) I have made some healthy homemade soup today and had reflexology yesterday, so hope to boost my immune system.
Poor Oma has been most unwell for a couple of days now, and now Enfys too

Now my poor mum has the bugShe was up most of the night with it. She has forbidden me to go over, saying she doesn't need anything, and doesn't want me to catch it again ( which I doubt is possible) She sounds very bright, apart from being a bit tired, if she sounded poorly I would have gone over anyway. I have told her to rest and eat and drink lightly, to keep her strength up. I will go over on Thursday, as I have baby GS tomorrow. I think knowing it is a bug going around stopped her worrying. She told me she felt she was walking like a 90 year old on her way back from bathroom to bedroom during the night. She is 88!!
