High tree pollen in the UK

The tree pollen is really high around here at the moment.

I am suffering as is my DD1.
In my younger days I would always suffer badly for few days every April. It hasn't been bad for many years now and some years I felt nothing. Maybe because it was raining so I wasn't out!
We are taking our antihistamines, and it will pass.

Fortunately I don’t suffer from this but my father did. Very tiring I should imagine.

My cousin usd o suffer badly with hayfever. She used to have injections for it,don't know if she still suffers with it.
Only time she didn't have the injections was when she was pregnant.

It was an interesting 2 hours! I had to do the breathing etc then there were 7 different histamine capsules, they were used one by one then with the breathing following to see if it was affected, the first 2 went well, the third one I felt I had less breath then the fourth was the last one for me, the nurse said it was very positive how I reacted to the histamine.

The specialist has just phoned to give me the results, she said "I see you didn't get further than the fourth one so now we know what the problem is. It is Bronchial hyperresponsiveness, in short, hypersensitive bronchial..I have to go for the new medicine now then have a few more appointments to see how it helps.

Gem, I think the tree pollen has been particularly bad this year. My DIL1 suffers badly with hay fever, and having woodland behind their house is a trigger. She's in Tenerife at the moment, so is escaping the tree pollen. She's just having to cope with the mozzy bites, which are also a problem for her.

Lizzie, that sounds a very thorough and useful test. I do hope it helps.

Lizzie, it sounds as though those mozzies had good appetites. I stick close to OH when there are mozzies about - they like him much better than me.
