Our oncology ward was lovely recliner chairs for patients, and nice high back seats for a relative if they wanted to stay during treatment,
But beds in small wards for those who were too poorly to sit that long .

It seems it depends on the department doesn't it.
Im not fat just 6ft too small

The outpatient oncology where OH and DD3 have their treatments is fine.

When DD was on the ward she saw people admitted because they were very poorly and that's when more space and privacy would be welcome. DD didnt mind the 3 bed rooms but found the 5 bed one crowded and noisy.

I suppose many hospitals are seeing a lot more patients than they were built for, but the overcrowding is a serious problem, bad for both patients and staff.
