All good.
Our little star is on the way home. Singing Jingle Bells in the car and eating bread sticks
He can see, is eating well and has left hospital with a sticker for being a brave boy
DD said all the staff were praising him.
I am looking forward to seeing him tomorrow, armed with his new Thomas jigsaw and a chocolate doughnut, and lots of gentle cuddles.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem, I wish I'd seen this last night. What a superstar he is, and you must be so pleased and relieved he's come through the operation very well, and so bravely. How lovely to have a certificate saying what a brave boy he's been. Give him a gentle hug from me, please. xxx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Thanks everyone.
He had quite a good night, waking for a while at 4am because his eyes were glued together ( he thought his night light had gone off!)
This morning he wouldn't open his eyes or let them bathe them at first. He still played, ran about and ate breakfast with them closed
I figured me taking him surprises would make him open them but in fact he had already opened then by the time I arrived.
He has been happy and chatty all day and loved having lunch with mummy, daddy and me. If not for the slightly red eyes, you would not know he had had an operation yesterday.
DD needed a Mum hug and little cry when I arrived, which I expected. She has been very brave but it's been a strain on her.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem, little E is doing very well. Children are so resilient and just get on with things, but it's a relief he was able to pen his eyes even before you arrived with surprises for him. Your poor DD must be exhausted with emotion, and I'm glad you were there to give her a Mum Hug.
