    Shingles vaccine

Have most of you had the Shingles vaccine?

When I had my latest flu jab , at our local pharmacy as I always do, I asked about the shingles one.
    I am 71 so eligible.

He said to that unfortunately, unlike flu and covid ones that one had to be done via your GP surgery.
Ours is generally rubbish, so of course neither OH have been invited although eligible for over a year.
I suppose I will have to try to book it via them
    .

Plant have you never had the Shingles vaccine? I think you only have it once.

Gem is right - you only have the shingles (and the pneumonia one) once. I had the shingles jab when it was first being offered to people born within a very small timescale - just a few months, if I remember correctly. I also had the pneumonia one when it was in its early days. Both were done at the surgery, but it was before pharmacies offered jabs of any sort.

I haven't had the pneumonia one either. I'm not sure of the age for that one.

                  Thanks Lizzie.

I have an appointment for my Shingles jab now, next month. I shall mention the pneumonia one when I'm there.

Had shingles and pneumonia vaccines several years ago and I believe they’re only once.
Had both flu and Covid a couple of weeks ago at a local pharmacy. One in each arm. Had a massive bruise where I had the COVID one, but apart from that, no reaction at all.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.
