    Electric toothbrushes

    Do you have one?
OH has had hers for a while. She was advised to as she has gum disease.

She gave me a spare head to try with hers , as I was considering getting an electric brush of my own.
I'm not at all sure I like it! I know they are supposed to give superior cleaning but I feel I don't have to same control and can't tell if I am reaching the back teeth properly.
I just wondered what others thought.

I love mine Gem, had one for years! I feel the opposite to you,I have the idea that it cleans much more thoroughly!

I've got a battery operated Oral B toothbrush. Had it for years, very happy with it.
Best thing is, i didn't buy it,it was sent to me for a survey.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Gem, I'm with Lizzie and your OH. Our dentist actually recommends electric toothbrushes over manual ones. You perhaps need to get a different routine for an electric toothbrush. Mine indicates every 30 seconds for 2 minutes so it's easy to have a routine of a quarter of your teeth for each interval.

I think it's easier to get to the back of back teeth with the small head on my electric brush.

I've had one for years Gem and like Daisy mine beeps every 30seconds, so I do front top, back top, front lower, back lower. Easy to get in a routine and if you do have to use a manual you can feel how much cleaner you teeth are with an electric brush. I seem to use less toothpaste too because the head is smaller.

I've also got a battery operated one which is handy if I'm away from home and don't want to take the electric brush charger.

I couldn’t imagine using a ordinary brush now,
We took some when we were away and I didn’t feel my teeth were clean enough,

We have had our oral B one for years we have just the one and each has a head that we keep in a tooth brush holder
it’s brilliant , I find the smaller heads mean you can get to hard to reach places
Worth giving it a try Gem

Oma, OH and I are such saddos - one of the first things we pack is the charger for our toothbrushes.

SWeeGranny, my 30 second routine is top right front and back. Top left ditto, bottom left ditto and bottom right ditto. But if I want a little excitement I swap the order around!

Daisy we normally do take ours but I thought it would be easier with ordinary toothbrush’s
                I was wrong 😁 won’t do it again .

Oma, you can get battery operated ones then it doesn’t matter if you forget the charger if you’re away from home!
I seem to have more and more chargers in my case when I go away these days! Phone, laptop, hearing aids… the list just gets longer!
Daisy, I have a 4 day cycle with my routine! Works well until I can’t remember where I started the previous day! Then I just start from the beginning again

Since you all recommend them I will persevere!
I don't like the buzzy vibrations.

WeeGranny, and I thought I had a good system for cleaning my teeth - yours is far superior. xx

Gem, good for you. I'm sure you'll get used to it in time, although my GD1 can't use an electric toothbrush. She's very noise sensitive and they are too loud for her.
