    Been to see MIL
The difference from Sunderland Royal hospital and this place is a mile apart.
She has a huge private room and a massive en suite ,
It’s clean quiet and the staff are lovely.
They will assess her for next couple of days then put a plan of action in place ,

They were appalled that she had a bed sore as on her notes it said just sore even though she and us had voiced our concerns ,
Even today when my SIL asked about it before she left they said it was fine .
They have taken pictures of it and have sprayed it with plastic skin , they will do that every day .

She is so much more settled and happy already.

      That is good news Oma.
If she is happy, they must be doing something right.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Thank goodness for that. You must be so relieved. As for a bed sore - that’s inexcusable. I think you said a complaint was going in, there’s no excuse whatsoever for that to happen, it’s just neglectful nursing.
Even in my short stay at Royal Preston, when I was pretty much immobile for three days, I was constantly checked for bed sores.

I have just been reading about the lack of cleanliness in all the hospitals and infections raising,
This doesn’t surprise me in the slightest after what we have seen lately .

Thank goodness MIL will receive much better care and be happier. We didn't have a single complaint about the respite centre my dad was in.

So pleased to hear that Oma. The moral in the first ward must have hit rock bottom.

Oh plant you wouldn’t believe it , stained floors , walls , curtains hanging of rails and dirty , lack lustre staff .
Bring back the old wards and matrons I say , and in hospital cleaners not contractors who are on a time limit so it not always done .

Well Bs youngest sister went in yesterday and MIL was in a right strop,
Didnt like it there didn’t like the food , nurses or room,
Moaned about the telly so my nephew said shall I put your soaps on Nana , no turn it off ,I don’t want it on , then before they left she complained she had missed her soaps because they were visiting 🙄

When she’s like that she wont cooperate, so his older sister is going in this afternoon and will warn her what they told us,
If she wont cooperate and do as they ask after two days they will just move her into a suitable home as the beds are in high demand they can’t just keep her there.

Hopefully she’s in a better mood today .
honestly we at our wits end with her sometimes .

I really hope so Oma but she is behaving just as she does at home when you try to help her.

How’s your MiL getting in Oma? She must be a ‘challenge’ for the staff with her oppositional behaviour.

I suppose she is frustrated and a bit bewildered about what is happening to her and that’s understandable, but as you say, unless she can be persuaded to cooperate, she may well end up in a place that’s much less congenial.

                          Sum 1 ,
She was in good spirits yesterday , up dressed and had a good walk around with the help of her favourite nurse and her walking frame.
We are visiting tonight, hopefully she’s still upbeat and doing as she’s told today.

She isn’t the easiest of people at the best of times but this has heightened her stroppy moods Im afraid .
