    Visit to doctor

I have been to the doctors today about my swollen foot and back of my leg and as I expected, I have a deep vein thrombosis. I have an appt. At Stoke Mandeville on Wednesday for an X-ray. I have a lovely new young female doctor and she was very thorough and thought it might have been caused by the long car journey to Cornwall although I was taking my blood thinner tablets. No instructions as to whether to rest or not. Not sure yet how I will get to Stoke, haven’t consulted DD as she has both GD’s today. Parking is so awful there due to lots of building I am tempted to take a taxi. I was going on a coach trip on Wed. So that will have to be cancelled.

Oh well done to you Plant being so proactive and getting it diagnosed so quickly .
Unless anyone can take you I would definitely take a taxi. You don't want to be driving and worrying about parking.

A pity about the coach trip

Sorry to hear this Plant. Both DH and DD had DVT, treated quickly and caused no further problems. Hope it all goes well for you.

Plant, it's good to get this treated so quickly. I'd definitely get a taxi if I were you. It's not worth the worry about trying to park, and you probably don't want to have to walk any distance from a parking space to the hospital. It's a pity about the coach trip, but sitting for a while on a coach isn't good for a DVT. Sending hugs. xx

Enfys , I hope you're ok, and have just been too busy to chat much. Are you still going to your knit and natter group?

Oh Plant I’m so pleased you went to the Dr ,
I think a Taxi is the best thing if DD can’t take you .
Shame about the coach trip but not worth taking any chances is it xx

Plant, a pity you will miss the coach trip, but your health comes first.
Nice to hear the doctor was very thorough.
A good idea to get a taxi.

My Dil or my DS are taking me to Stoke tomorrow. There is so much building going on there it is difficult to park, I hate going there.

Plant, I'm so glad you haven't got to worry (or even think) about driving yourself there. I hope they can treat your DVT quickly. Sending hugs.

Very long visit to Stoke, X-ray showed no DVT now, I then had a blood test and a blood pressure check. We then waited 1 1/2 hours before they would discharge me because they hadn’t got the results of the blood test. I eventually got to speak to someone and said I had to leave as DS had to get back so then a nurse arrived with all the results and said we could go. I am sure we would still be sitting there if I hadn’t asked. I have to have another check, at my local hospital this time, in a few days time.

Plant, despite having to wait for results, that sounds like good news. At least you haven't got to travel to Stoke Mandeville for your next check up. I'm sure you must be tired by all the waiting around and travelling, but hopefully the next check will be a lot easier. xx

Sounding positive Plant. What a pain though being kept waiting around.
