    How are you and yours?

We've all been through a lot in various ways since the first lockdown in March 2020. So many aspects of our lives seem to have changed, mostly not for the best.

The current fuel crisis has hit a lot of people hard - the frustration and worry of wondering if they will have enough petrol to do essential trips just seems to have got to people who had appeared to be coping well generally. It seems like the last straw.

Almost everyone I talk to is having a hard time one way or another, and there's so much sadness, anxiety and worry.

Am I imagining this, or is it how things are?

Being the age I am the past 18 months fortunately hasn’t had a lasting effect on me but I am sure a lot of peoples lives have changed in many ways. People have lost loved ones but haven’t been able to morn their passing. Young people have not been able to socialise with their friends.

We are doing ok Daisy. Neither of us suffer from anxiety, for which i am grateful.

It was a sad time for us when Mam died, but we were fortunate enough to have a funeral without restrictions.

I seem to have recurring periods of being very anxious, especially about my health.
I am lucky, we have lost no one, and apart from mum who had no symptoms, our family have so far escaped covid.
I agree Daisy, the fuel problem, plus approaching winter and doomsayers who predict further lockdowns don't help.

Keep strong ladies, and we will all get through this xx

We have had lots happening several of my family have had Covid latest was my GS1 but he came through it well ,
Of course we lost my Brother to it and couldn't attend his funeral ,

Lock downs , worry about shortages etc hasn't helped a lot of people
Our health's haven't been good but we have come through them and are hoping for a brighter year next year .

Gem, it seems a lot of relatively small or short-term things seem to be getting people down don't they. Certainly there still seems to be a lot of fear about Covid infections. One friend said to me the other day she had gone to a first reopening of an activity she enjoys and saw one of her friends hugging someone and felt so anxious she avoided even speaking to this person. I do think the fuel problems will be short-lived but very real problems for those who need their cars or have holidays planned.

For us, of course, our huge over-riding worry is about our DS1's health and everything else pales into insignificance in our lives, but I do sometimes find myself being affected by other people's worries in a way I never used to be.

Oma - our posts crossed. xx
