I worry about the cancer ads, or other 'begging' ads for everything from clean water to Tibetan tigers. They always seem very manipulative to me and seem to be playing on people's feelings of guilt or anxiety. They are expensive to produce so they must be generating a lot of donations to make them worthwhile, which is of course what the charities need. However, they rarely say exactly how much per £1 actually goes to providing clean water or saving a tiger etc. I find this very sad and unsettling.

Me too Daisy. The ones that annoy me are the Guide dog ads, where they say you get a cuddly toy! If I was sending any donation I wouldn’t want any of it wasted on producing cuddly toys! For goodness sake, they say £3 a month, but how much of that actually goes towards training a guide dog? 50p? Grrr, I just get so cross.
