    Pneumonia jab

I have noticed several of you mentioning the pneumonia jab.
I was wondering how many of you have had this?
    Neither OH nor I have.

When I had my first flu jab at the GP surgery 18 months ago they mentioned I could have had it, but they didn't have any in!
It has never been mentioned since.

Gem, I think it's offered to anyone over 65 and I was told it's a one-off vaccination. It covers bacterial pneumonia.

I personally think it's worth having - we lost a friend to complications of pneumonia some years ago. He was a fit, healthy man in his late 60s, never smoked, etc but still died of complications from pneumonia.

I've had mine. Can't remember when though.
I know its a one off jab. next time i have to go to the clinic i'll ask when i had it.
They did it when i had one of my flu jabs.

Whenever we get to see doctors in real time I will ask about it. I didn't have my flu jab at the surgery last October but via the local pharmacy and flu jabs were all they were there to do, so I couldn't ask then.

Nanto - I think my OH had his with some other injection - I think it was for Shingles. That's also a one-off injection.

Good news, then - no booster needed.
