Have you had your flu jab yet?

I just wondered how many of us have had the flu jab this year?
I had mine in September, via the local pharmacy.
OH had hers booked via her GP surgery a couple of week ago, but forgot to go

I feel it is even more important than ever to have it this year. If we catch flu, our immune systems will be depleted and if we were then unlucky enough to catch covid, we would be very ill. OH didn't have it last year, has never had it, as that was the first year we were eligible for the free ones.

I read that the peak flu period is December and January, so hopefully they will reschedule one for her before then.

We had ours in September too ,
I agree its more important now ,
MIL was on the phone last night saying she wont have the Covid Jab , so B went to town on her telling her how silly she is and would be putting not only herself but others at risk if she contracted it , he said he would be reluctant to go over if she didn't with his immune system , so she reconsidered ,
We have this fight with her every year when she needs the Flu vaccine , She has a right carry on then goes for it once she has made a fuss

We had our flu jabs in September as well, Gem. They take a couple of weeks to take effect I think, so for once we got them early - we usually leave it until about now - just because we don't get round to it. But as you say, I think it's more important this year.

Oma - it will be interesting to see how the Covid vaccine works. We won't be in the very early groups to get it, being mere youngsters between 75 and 80, but I do have some concerns just because it's so new and has been developed very, very quickly.

Daisy, my OH said she was glad we were 5th on the list, so others would be guinea pigs first!

I had my flu jab about a month ago like I always do. I won’t be in the front line for the Covid jab as, like Daisy, I’m between 75-80. I too have some concerns but agree it is important to have it done, but there’ll be many more in front of me so we shall see.

I read somewhere, but don’t know how true it is, that they won’t give you the Covid jab if you haven’t had the flu jab! But that might be fake news.

We had ours in September. We had it in our GP's car park. Thankfully it was a lovely warm sunny, I remember it well because the next day, the rain poured down and autumn reared it's unwelcome head

I had my flu injection last Friday at my Drs surgery and this is the first year I have not come down with flu after it,if you all remember 3yrs ago I had pheumonia injection at the same time as my flu injection and I was so poorly for 2 weeks after even having to take to my bed I was so ill.
I shall wait to see what the results seem to be on the Covid vaccine it seems to have been developed rather quickly for my liking but I may be very wrong I hope so.
