    Flu jabs

I really don’t know how the doctors’ surgeries are going to arrange the flu vaccination programme this year. Usually we just make an appointment and either go and queue up with everyone else or, if we’re lucky, get an individual appointment with the practice nurse. I haven’t heard anything from our surgery yet so have decided to go to our local pharmacy. Rang them and booked my appointment for 1st October. Has anyone else heard what their doctors are doing?

We go to our local pharmacy, and they have a list and will ring us to make an appointment when their vaccine is in stock, mid-September they think.

I wrote this on another thread. I asked yesterday as we usually all go to the surgery, they are now doing it in the local sport hall, we will get a letter with date and time. The doctor said they are now busy organizing it all.

I had a letter from the surgery to say they are having two Saturday flu jab sessions. We have to wait outside until called. I made an appointment for 19 th September.

Last year was the first year I was eligible for one. They just offered me it when I was at the surgery for my annual medication review as the supplies were in, so I had it that day.
My review was done over the phone this year, and I haven't heard about flu jabs yet. Our pharmacy do them, so I may go there .

Yesterday I booked in with the local pharmacy to ring us when they have supplies. It’s hopeless trying to contact our surgery so I won’t even try.

We had a text from surgery inviting us for a test. Rang them, got appointments for 9th, will do one after the other. Make sure we wear masks. Have no idea how it's being organised, but OH needs to have one and as I'm in the age category too, so do I! Will report back when done.

I have booked my flu jab through the surgery. It is going to be done at the Baptist Church, just across the road from the surgery. Ingenious ways of getting around social distancing this year!

Good idea, Sunshine. I suppose our surgery could use the village hall if they need to. I'm sure our chemists will have a system worked out for their very tiny consulting room.
