    The new way of hairdressing!

This morning OH and I had our hair cut.
We have a mobile hairdresser, who came to OH for many years before we met.

She came today. We knew she had protection and she advised us to wear masks if we had them, which we do.
We left the side gate open so she could go straight through to the garden.

She had on a face mask, pretty heavy duty looking, over that a large see through visor/shield from her head to below her chin. Over her clothes she wore an apron made from a black bin bag.

Apart from when seated, with back to her, for hair cutting, we maintained the 2 metre distancing. She said she hot washes the cape, which looked new, after each client (OH and I shared as we live together!)
When she finished she sprayed our patio table, chairs and even extension lead she plugged her hairdryer into with a disinfectant, and strongly advised us to put all our clothes in the wash as soon as she had gone.

I admire her dedication. She said she didn't work for several weeks, but customers were getting desperate, and she was earning nothing, so she takes all the precautions.
She said that with the weather being good, she has done a lot of work in people's gardens which definitely adds to the safety.

When hairdressers opening on July 4th (as of now) I suppose this what we can expect.

Salons are open here Gem, I haven't been yet but got an appointment. I was just thinking, anyone that was caught cutting hair whilst in lockdown were fined, heavily as well, I read that a few times. The customer was also fined.

Lizzie, she said that she could be fined but not us, so it must be different here.

I count myself very lucky as far as hairdressing goes at the moment. I've had my hair cut/trimmed every 6 weeks for years, but last year on a whim decided to let it grow longer. I started having a trim every 8 weeks and then my hairdresser went on maternity leave, and decided it was a good time to let it go 12 weeks, which I did. It's grown longer, and longer and each time I've had only a very light trim to keep it in shape.

It's now over 4 months since it was last trimmed, and to be honest it's fine! I have to cut my fringe, but I do that between cuts anyway, so I may never go back to the hairdressers again!

Plant - it's good to change your hairstyle sometimes.

I'll be pleased to go to my hairdresser when she opens her salon again. Because of the scar left on my scalp after having a benign cancer removed, I have to have it cut a certain way. When it's longer like this my hair falls differently because of the weight & the scar is visible.

Not to worry, it's not as tho I'll be dining out any time soon.

I saw on FB that GrannyJules OH cut her hair, and a remarkably good job he did of it too, from the photos

It's amazing how many people have suddenly discovered they have hairdressing skills. There were several photos on our Self-isolating group of dads having their hair cut by teenage daughters! They all looked really good, too.

OH has grown a beard. He had one for many years and I really like it. His hair needs a bit of a trim, but he keeps putting off having it done (I nearly always do it anyway) and I think he's heading back to his hippy 60s days.

Daisy, DH is doing that too! Not sure how long it will last but we shall see. He had a droopy tache and a beard back in the 70’s, and bell bottoms!

Not sure what growing beards has to do with lock down but love it. You will have to send pics of your hippy OH's.

Nana, I am sure nobody notices your scar. I am still waiting to have a BCC removed, appt. got cancelled.
