Well done Daisy. Do you mind me asking if they're NHS ones? Did the audiologist programme them? I'm wondering (like Plant says) if my left one is set too loud. The rustle of my hair against it is almost deafening. I might ring the Clinic on Monday. I'm really pleased you went for a test.

      Thanks, Nana.

Yes, they are NHS ones, and the audiologist programmed them. She did say you shouldn't be able to hear your clothes etc rustling, so perhaps your left one needs adjusting.

I find the test difficult, never sure if I hear the sound or not as some are very feint. When I get my car I am going to make an appt. to get them checked as I don't think mine are loud enough.

          Good for you Daisy.

I SO wish I could get OH to go for a hearing test. I know he has loss of hearing in one ear but he vehemently denies it.He always says he can hear me but I say yes he hears me but on the second or third time of saying something. I know his unreasonable response is partly due to his illness but I get so frustrated,

Clover - I do sympathise. I knew my hearing wasn't perfect, but OH was convinced everyone was mumbling. He was for ever saying things like 'you never told me that'!! The tv volume was so loud I think the whole village could hear it etc, etc.

Specsavers have got a little hearing test in store to check if you need a proper test or not. It's done on an iPad and takes about 3 minutes and gives you a chart at the end from which you can tell if your hearing is ok or not. If you could persuade him to do that - a bit like just checking your eyes with a chart - that might convince him he needs a full hearing test. You could probably both do it, just as a check up of course!

That is a good idea Daisy, perhaps g might agree to that.

Plant - I wasn't sure about some of the sounds, and wondered if I was imagining them. But I believe the audiologist will start your settings off at a slightly lower level so you can get used to them.
