Qwerty - I put daffs in a jug sometimes, too. The ones in the kitchen always last longer than those in the hall or the cloakroom.
Oma - some daffs do smell horrible, but some are a very nice scent.
I thought the Kindle cover looked a bit like a stained glass window, or one of those glass artworks you can hang on a wall or glass door.
